Open positions for 2023 Season

Omaha Mobile Stage (OMS) is a mobile, community venue for performing artists of all ages, and a teaching venue to help train the next generation of creatives.

The OMS mobile venue moves throughout Omaha neighborhoods from April to October (weather permitting) to provide free community-driven entertainment and arts enrichment. 

Interns will receive training, mentorship and paid work experience alongside industry professionals, and acquire skills in a hands-on, outdoor environment.

Assistant Audio Engineer

Assistant Audio Engineers work with the Omaha Mobile Stage production manager, who oversees all technical aspects of each live event. Prior entry-level experience or training working in live sound engineering is required.

Stipend: $15/hour

Age requirement: 18 years or older.

In-person or virtual: In-person only.

Skills/Requirement: Ability to lift equipment (up to 50 pounds). Complete the OMS Audio Engineer Internship or similar training.

Transportation: Must be able to provide your own transportation to live event locations in North, South and East Omaha. Bus passes will be provided as requested. Training takes place indoors at a downtown Omaha location.

Audio Engineer Internship

Audio Engineer Interns will receive training on professional audio and sound equipment, and learn stagehand and event management tasks.  After completing this 3-month/12-event internship, you may apply for the “Assistant Audio Engineer” position.

Stipend: $12/hour

Requirements: Applicants must be able to attend 10 hours of pre-season training and work a minimum of 12 live events (an average of 4 events per month for 3 months).

Age requirement: 16 years or older. There is no age maximum.

In-person or virtual: In-person only.

Skills: Ability to lift equipment (up to 50 pounds). No prior technical skills required. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Transportation: Must be able to provide your own transportation to live event locations in North, South and East Omaha. Bus passes will be provided as requested. Training takes place indoors at a downtown Omaha location.

Marketing and Communications Internship

The Marketing and Communications Intern will work with artists, community partners, neighborhood groups, schools, and businesses throughout Omaha to increase awareness of the Omaha Mobile Stage and youth talent show program. 

Specific duties: The Marketing and Communications Intern will work directly with community partners to develop and implement a communications, outreach and marketing plan for hosting a “youth talent” show on the Omaha Mobile Stage. The final product will be distributed to schools, neighborhood associations and community groups, and made available online. 

Additional duties include: attending talent show events and planning meetings; collecting information to market OMS events within neighborhoods and regionally; taking event photos; producing content for social media; and updating community calendars.

In-person or virtual: Both

Expected weekly hours: 10-15 hr/week, flexible.

Eligibility requirement: Open to current college students or recent high school graduates only.

Compensation: $500 semester stipend

Transportation: Must be able to provide your own transportation to live event locations in North, South and East Omaha. Bus passes will be provided as requested.
